Marijus Plančiūnas
Founder & CEO
Before founding Aegis Brightsmark Capital, Marijus served as CEO of Paysera — one of the largest fintech companies in the Baltics. He was elected by the board after progressing through delivery management, information security, and IT leadership roles.
With over 20 years in technology, his career spans from building internet platforms at Gaumina to co-founding VillagePod (a "shop local" startup covered by The Irish Times), to leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across fintech, healthcare, and digital commerce.
He holds a Certified Scrum Product Owner credential, a Zend Certified PHP Engineer certification, and a DevOps and SRE certification from edX. He is also a GitHub Arctic Code Vault Contributor.

We model complex business domains with bounded contexts and aggregates, keeping the software aligned with the business it serves.
Event Sourcing & CQRS
Full audit trails and temporal queries. Every state change is captured as an immutable event, enabling reliable replays and debugging.
Test-Driven Development
We write tests before production code. Our FinAegis platform uses Pest PHP with tests covering domain logic, projections, and API endpoints.
Open Source First
We believe in transparency. Our FinAegis banking domain model is Apache 2.0 licensed and publicly available on GitHub for anyone to audit.
Security by Design
Security is built into the architecture from day one, not bolted on afterwards. From key management to access controls, we think about threats early.
